The Junior Blue Jay Athletics program participates in the Jr GAC Fall Tackle/Modified Tackle Football League in 5 different age divisions (4th Grade Modified Tackle & 5th to 8th Grade Tackle). This below information is subject to change as circumstances require. Please be aware we will stick to dates and locations as much as we are able.
Game Schedule: Saturday Games starting in August (6-8 Regular Season Games).
Game Locations: Home games played on WHS turf field. Away games primarily played on respective High School turf fields.
Playoff Game(s): Top 8 Teams Playoff (3 week Schedule) - Only winners advance with championship being 3rd and final game.
Practices: 2-3 Days Per Week Starting July 26th. Held at 14th Street Fields near WMS.
Exact times to be announced (anticipated to be from 6-8 pm).
Cost: $225 - Includes: All gear/apparel except cleats and mouthpiece. (Used cleats are available-ask Bethany)
Who: All Future Washington High School Athletes (entering the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades)
Sign Up Deadline: May 20th, 2024
Grade: Registration Grade for Tackle is the upcoming Fall Grade of your athlete.
What Else: Copy of Most Current Completed Physical is Required Prior to First Practice.
Physicals Are Valid for 2 years unless changed to 1 year by your doctor.
Discounts: Family Discounts for 2 or more players reduce fees by $25 for each player after the 1st player.
An optional Monthly Payment arrangement is available until March 20th.

League: The Jr. GAC is a youth version of the Gateway Athletic Conference (GAC). Washington High School is a member of the GAC. The Jr. GAC follows the same boundary of residency rules as the GAC to ensure realistic competition that athletes will experience in High School. This allows athletes to compete against the same athletes they will see in their counterpart High School teams. It also allows athletes to compete with their own peers instead of against them. The JrGAC and the Jr. Blue Jays are Heads Up Football Certified by USA Football.
